Dearness Allowance : The central government is going to give good news to more than one crore employees and pensioners by increasing the dearness allowance before Holi. According to media reports, the government may increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 4% before Holi. After which the existing dearness allowance will increase from 38% to 42%.

According to the news agency, this increase in DA will be effective from January 1, 2023. In fact, the DA give to central employees and pensioners is decide on the basis of Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW), which is issue by the Labor Bureau.
Dearness Allowance : DA will Increase by 4%
The government has released the CPI-IW for December 2022 on January 31, 2023. Talking to the news agency, Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation, said that “on the basis of CPI-IW, the increase in DA works out to 4.23, but the government will not increase DA in decimal. By increasing 4% DA May be 42%.

DA was Last Increase in September 2022
Shiv Gopal Mishra said that the Department of Expenditure of the Finance Ministry will prepare a proposal to increase DA with its revenue implications. After this the proposal will place before the Union Cabinet for approval. Earlier, DA was revise on 28 September 2022, which is effective from 1 July 2022.

Dearness Allowance is Revise Twice A Year
The central government is going to give good news to more than one crore employees and pensioners by increasing the DA before Holi. To compensate for the rising prices, the government gives DA to the employees and pensioners. The rule of increasing DA is going on every year from January 1 and July 1. Explain that the dearness allowance of the employees is calculate every month by the Labor Bureau, which is a part of the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
