Tech Company Dell will Layoffs 6650 Employees, It will Cut off 5% of Work Force Globally

Dell Layoffs : Many big companies are laying off. Now Dell is also going to join this list. A report has come regarding this. The report claims that Dell is going to show the way out to 6650 employees. This retrenchment will be done in its global workforce.

Bloomberg has reported about this. The company had frozen the hiring earlier. Apart from this, travel restrictions were also imposed. But, it seems that this is not enough for the cost cutting of the company. Because of this the company is now planning layoffs.

Dell Layoffs : Employees Fired in 2020 Also

Even in the year 2020, the company had shown the way out to many employees due to Corona. However, it is not clear in the report that which department will be most affected by the current retrenchment. The report quoted a spokesperson as saying that the company is looking at reducing jobs as an opportunity.

Dell Layoffs : Company Confirmed Retrenchment

After this retrenchment, about 39000 employees will left in Dell. According to the March 2022 filing, one-third of the company’s employees live in the US. Dell has confirmed India Today Tech about this layoff but has not given information about the numbers regarding the job cut.

Let us tell you that Dell is a big name in PC brand. However, it is also facing economic challenges. According to market analyst Gartner, global PC shipments saw a year-over-year decrease of 28.5 percent in the fourth quarter of last year.

HP Also Announced Layoffs

In November 2022, PC brand HP also announced layoffs. The company had tell that by the year 2025, many employees would show the way out. The company is planning to lay-off about 6 thousand employees. This is 12 percent of its global work force.
